Name the sizing system.

Record the sizing system alongside the size. When using a ring you already wear as a reference, make clear which ring was measured and how. An online conversion chart is a guide to systems, not confirmation that a new design will fit.

For your enquiry, note the hand and finger, the sizing system used and whether the measurement came from a professional fitting or a ring you already own. If you only have a diameter or circumference, include the unit and describe how it was measured. Do not round a measurement into a purchase decision.

Consider the width and interior.

Wide bands, tapered shapes and curved interiors need appropriate measurement. Tell the jeweller which profile and width you are considering. A narrow ring that feels comfortable is useful context, but its size should not be transferred automatically to a different shape.

Compare the actual width and inner profile, not only the size label. Our minimal wedding-band direction and sculptural wedding-band direction are useful visual starting points; the final piece still needs its own specification and fitting.

Ask for a suitable fitting.

A jeweller can assess the design with appropriate gauges or samples. Discuss how the ring feels going over the knuckle and when sitting in place, and follow the fitting advice given for that particular piece.

Confirm adjustment options.

Ask whether the chosen design can be resized, by whom, and under what conditions. Material, construction and surface treatment may affect the options. Confirm any costs and timing before proceeding.

Before committing, ask for the agreed size, width, adjustment policy and timing in writing. If you are planning from outside Athens, explain your travel dates in a private enquiry; do not assume a fitting, alteration or collection can be completed during a particular visit.
